Job Summary

Position ensures that all students, especially those who are economically disadvantaged, have access to high-quality educational opportunities and resources that support their academic success. This requires a combination of strong organizational and management skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and community stakeholders.

 

Essential Duties

  1. Program Management: Ensuring that it complies with all federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines as well as Berea Independent policies and procedures.
  2. Budget Management: Allocating funds for instructional materials, professional development, and other resources to support student learning.
  3. Staff Training: Providing training and professional development opportunities for teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure they have the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively implement academic interventions.
  4. Data Collection and Analysis: Collecting and analyzing data on student performance to identify areas of need and inform decisions related to program improvement and resource allocation.
  5. Parent and Community Outreach: Building relationships with parents, community organizations, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and support.
  6. Compliance Monitoring: Ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulations, including monitoring student eligibility and participation, and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  7. Teaches content and skills in courses, utilizing curriculum designated by Berea Independent Schools.
  8. Develop and maintain a high-quality, standards-based curriculum for that aligns with the state and administrative regulations and procedures of Berea Independent Schools.
  9. Deliver effective classroom instruction, facilitate learning activities, and provide timely and constructive feedback to students to enhance their learning.
  10. Provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students.
  11. Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports, checklists, census forms, and other recordkeeping activities, as necessary.

Encourages students to think independently and to express original ideas.

  1. Evaluates each student’s progress in meeting the course standards.

Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.

  1. Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress.

Supervises students in assigned out-of-classroom activities during the working day.

  1. Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.

Administers testing in accordance with division testing practices.

  1. Models’ nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

Other Duties

  1. Maintains professional competence by attending staff development programs, curriculum development meetings and other professional activities.
  2. Participates in various student and parent activities which occur in school including PTA, student clubs and after-school activities.
  3. Creates an effective learning environment through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and activity/learning centers.
  4. Performs other duties as assigned by principal or appropriate administrator.

 

 

Certification Requirement

Possession of certification as required by Kentucky law.

 

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Valid Kentucky driver's license.

 

Possession of certification as required by Kentucky law.

 

Insurability by the District's liability insurance carrier.
